PDR - Insurance

These days, all major insurance companies recognize and accept Paintless Dent Repair (PDR), and many even promote it! If you’re considering filing an insurance claim for hail damage repairs, there are a few important points to keep in mind.

First, hail damage falls under a comprehensive claim and will NOT raise your insurance rates. Your insurance provider may provide a list of preferred vendors for your PDR repairs. Extreme Hail & Collision won’t be included on that list—here’s why:

Insurance vendors are contracted with the insurance company and are required to charge you a deductible. Extreme Hail & Collision advocates on your behalf with a licensed independent adjuster or directly with the insurance company to secure the proper approval for your repairs.

This means you can expect the highest quality service. Plus, we proudly offer a Lifetime Warranty on our work.

Do I have to go where my insurance company tells me to go?

No, as the policyholder, the decision is entirely yours. If you choose a shop recommended by your insurance provider, they are typically under contract with the insurer and must charge you a deductible. This is why it's essential to highlight that Extreme Hail & Collision advocates for you with a licensed independent adjuster to ensure your repairs are approved at the appropriate level. This guarantees you the highest quality service. Additionally, we can assist with your deductible while still providing our Lifetime Warranty.

If the insurance company provides an insufficient amount for your claim, we encourage them to visit our shop and assess every dent on your vehicle to ensure you receive the correct payout. Extreme Hail & Collision does not charge extra for this service. Our goal is to ensure your car or truck is repaired properly—that’s the purpose of having insurance.

Some insurance companies may insist that you must bring your vehicle to a specific shop for repairs. This is simply not accurate! The Texas Department of Insurance states:

"By law, you have the right to choose where your vehicle is repaired and which parts are used for those repairs. However, an insurance company is not obligated to pay more than a reasonable amount for these repairs and parts. Your legal rights concerning motor vehicle repairs are outlined in the Insurance Code, Article 5.07-1. If your vehicle damage is covered by an insurance policy, the details of your coverage and legal rights under that contract are further explained in the policy itself. For more information about your insurance policy, please contact your insurance company."
